VHS-C Camcorder has composite out, no S-Video
VCR has composite out and S-Video out
Have VHS-C adapter to play tape in standard VCR
Which is better:
1. Using composite out on camcorder, or adapter and composite out on VCR
2. Using composite out on camcorder, or adapter and S-Video out on VCR
I imagine that it depends on the quality of the camcorder and VCR. What specs would you use to compare the the image quality of the camcorder to the image quality of the VCR?
Is there a ballpark percentage of the quality of S-Video over composite? For example, in scenario 2, if the percentage is 15%, but the quality of the of the camcorder is 20% better than the VCR's, you'd want to use the camcorder composite.

The quality is first and foremost depending on what is on the tape.
I don't know of any spec's stating what you are after. Personally, I would use the device that recorded the clips for the capture. Quality is subjective. Make a short project with clips captured both ways and judge for yourself which gives the better result.
