Creating DVD menus in VS10+
Is there a way of returning to the main menu at the end of each chapter rather than havng it power on to the rest of the video?

So does VideoStudio. After you click Create Disc and the burn window opens, click on the little cogwheel icon in the lower left. Uncheck the Auto Repeat When Disc Playback Ends and then choose Back To Menu from the Clip Playback box.

Creating DVD menus in VS10+
Thanks for that Jeff.Found it and got that bit sorted.
BUT.....
Now another puzzle.
Having edited the footage and thus produced a single project file for it all, complete with chapters (only 3) marked on the timeline. How do I create a menu with thumbnails pointing to the 3 chapters?
It seems to me that one way is to create 3 separate videos, one for each chapter then load them into the menu editor.
Surely this is not the proper way to create a thumbnail menu of my 3 chapters?
Please guide me.
Keith
PS have got the full pdf for VS10+ but no guidance there on this.

The default menu structure for a DVD menu in VideoStudio is to have one opening screen with thumbnails for the number of videos you have inserted - in your case this will be one. Selecting the one thumbnail will take you to a second 'chapter' screen where you will have your three chapters.
If you created chapters in the timeline then when you go "Share >> Create Disc" and your video is in the timeline click on "Next" - in the new window which opens you will see a drop down immediately under the preview screen - use that to switch between editing your main menu and the chapter menu.
At this point you can turn off the first (or one thumbnail menu) by clicking on "Advanced Settings" to the left of the preview screen and clicking to remove the tick against "Add Title Menu" - you should now have a video which starts with just your chapter menu .
You can check this my clicking on the little remote control under the bottom right corner of the preview screen - and using the 'simulated' DVD player.
It may also help you if you read Steve Jones tutorial here :-

There are two ways to get Video Studio to recognise the chapter marks you inserted in the timeline.
1) If you have NOT applied Update Service Pack 1 to VS10, then instead of first producing a DVD-compatible mpeg-2 (Share > Create Video File > DVD) as we recommend, you have no choice but to go straight to the burning module (Share > Create Disc). VS will then see your chapter marks, though you can add more or remove them as you wish.
2) If you HAVE applied that Service Pack, then you can both produce a DVD-compliant mpeg-2 which actually does contain the chapter marks, then closing the project, and with a clean timeline, open the burning module and insert the new mpeg-2. VS 10 will see the chapter marks.
