MF4-- "Convert step got some problems! (4102)"

Post by soonerjw »

Okay, I've come to this forum because I don't know where else to go. I will do my best to explain my problem, but I will admit that I don't know enough to get into some of the nitty-gritty (If I did know that much then I might hnave been able to solve the problem on my own! :P )

I recently copied a video tape onto a DVD through my VCR/DVD combo player. Then, through DVD Movie Factory 4, I imported the 3 videos from the original DVD into a project file. I split those three video files into 13 different chapters within the DVD MF4 movie project.

Now, as I have finished creating the DVD-Video project, I am attempting to burn and after it warns me that "This step may take a while", I am then given a warning "Convert step got some problems! (4102)".

I have Googled and searched in this forum for some information on Warning #4102, but I can not find where anywhere has ever mentioned this problem.

I will include my system information if needed, but this warning made it seem more like a programming issue, so I have not included that information yet. I will say that I have tried to install the latest two updates (Aug. 2006 and Nov. 2006) from the website, but when I try to install it says that it can not find Movie Factory 4.0.

Thank you for any help or information (or simple guidance) anyone can give!!

Sorry that its taken so long to reply with this information. I have been away from the desktop computer with the program for the past week.

Since you mentioned the possibility of the Dolby Digital Audio not being supported by the software, I will add that have never been able to have audio play while watching a DVD or a movie file through the ULead software. The project that I am trying to create/burn is made from a VHS tape being dubbed to a DVD, then copying that DVD onto my computer and editting the file through MovieFactory as a new project. Yet, I have burned one other project before using movie files that I downloaded from online sources, and that DVD has worked/played fine.

Here is the information from the Media Properties that you mentioned:

File
File name: _________
File format: NTSC DVD
File size: 300,780 KB
Duration: 485.419 Seconds

Video
Video type: MPEG-2 Video, Upper Field First
Total frames: 14,548 Frame(s)
Attributes: 24 Bits, 720 x 480, 4:3
Frame rate: 29.970 Frames/Sec
Data rate: Variable bit rate (Max. 4300 kbps)

Audio
Audio type: Dolby Digital Audio
Total samples: 23,300,100 Samples
Attributes: 48000 Hz
Layer: None
Bit rate: 256 kbps

Just for extra information, I'm using the MovieFactory 4.0 Suite Deluxe software that came bundled with my internal Pioneer DVD-RW drive. Not sure if that means its the Special Edition or not...

Thank you so much for all your expertise and help!!
