Hi There,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this as I've come to a dead end.
The problem is I've been using VS 8 for a while now and have been able to output files onto a dvd disc just fine however I've just recieved this error message when trying to output my latest movie:
Unspecified Error
Report ID: 0x8004041c(1052)
Has anyone come across this problem before?

You haven't by any chance recently loaded the Nero suite, including InCD, or else the Roxio Easy Media Creator suite? I ask because both InCD and the Roxio equivalent -- which are called packet writing software, drag and drop -- have a tendency to take over the burner and not let other programs access to it.
If you have, then you should remove InCD entirely, though the Roxio equivalent allows itself to be internally disabled without actually uninstalling it.
If that is not the cause, then one thing you might consider, apart from the usual uninstall/reinstall of VS8, is to do a System Restore to a point where you think it might still have been working properly.

I simple uninstall and re-install has fixed the problem.
I'm not sure why but previously the settings were:
Required disk space: 4.8GB / Available disk space 0bytes
However with a reinstall the settings are:
Required disk space 4.8GB / Available disk space 11.0Gb
Can't explain why, but it's working fine now.

Don't be surprised if, with the massive amounts (sorry
) of free diskspace, you end up getting a similar problem soon. I don't think a reinstall is required then. I would start with clearing out dead wood from my PC and defrag the HDD first. Who knows, it might even fix it
From your post I could see that the program did not have any available space to put its files on. Why that is so I can only guess because you don't tell
