Error on adding video files

I have the Trial Version MF5. After installing and rebooting I launched the program and selected new project and clicked on Add Video File. The program sets for aprox 15 sec and then displays an error. A msgbox pops up with "Please connect your device with ActiveSync" . As I was adding a file on my hard drive, I am uncertain as to what device I need to connect.
I have tried dropping the file on the timeline with the same result. I then repaired the installation and rebooted...still does same thing. I completely uninstalled following the instructions posted in this forum. Reinstalled...same thing...I don't know what to do at this point. This is my first experence with MF. Thanks for any help.

Do you have any external devices that would be connected to your PC via USB, such as an external Hard drive, or mobile device?
