Why does ulead 9 pop my images into the frame at the correct ratio and when i use ulead10 it gives me all black borders?
I did manage to get them fitting nicely then added some video and they all fell back to black borders again.
Very frustrating.

It's even more frustrating trying to help with nothing to go by
Did you check the settings in VS10 or are you one of the believers that software companies intuitively need to know what exactly it is that you want to do and provide you with the correct default settings straight out of the box?
I never used VS9 but just jesterday I finished a video in VS10+ which also includes a lot of still images, none of which displays a box around them, can you explain to me why?

Check the project settings.
If you are set for MPEG NTSC with a bit rate higher than 9800, you will get a 16:9 aspect ratio, not 4:3, and if you have "Keep Aspect Ratio" checked for your images, you will not be able to avoid the black borders.
Try using a bit rate of 9800 or lower for NTSC, 8200 or lower for PAL to render MPEG in 4:3 aspect ratio.
Unless you want to render a HD file ...

Also check File>Preferences>Edit Tab>Image Resampling Option. You can choose Fit To Project Size or Keep Aspect Ratio.

Thannk heinz-oz for the sarcasm but the reason i posted a question was to find out which settings i need to change........
Only a moron would expect a program to be rfu out of the box it came
in.....
Anyway i'll battle on with adobe products that don't seem to jam the system either.
Happy new year

If you had bothered to put some detail with your question, I'm sure, the reply wouldn't have been the same. What sort of advice do you expect if you don't say what you did?weddingsbywayne wrote:Thannk heinz-oz for the sarcasm but the reason i posted a question was to find out which settings i need to change........

I wish you luck with Adobe.
