Hello, Im in a little predicament, I just started film-making about a month or so and so far windows movie maker is buggy as hell; just won't work for me. Now I need a new editiing software for my computer, I found this one, but...can this software/product be transfered to another computer? I ask you this mind boggling question because, right now, I have a desktop...but say in a year maybe less or even a few months, I'm going to get a new laptop for college. I still want this software (just love the demo) but will I have to buy another Ulead videostudio pro and spend another $100 for my laptop? I wont have much money once I get the notebook so yeah.
FYI, projects are due and I can't "Wait" until I get a notebook for the software. So, basicly, can I like um... unistall the software from my desktop and transfer it to a notebook? Confusing I know, possible I dont know.
Very sorry if this has to be the noobiest question of them all, but a simple and correct "yes it can" will get this worry off my chest.
Danke, Thanks, Aloha, Kumasta and what not.
Is this software portable?

The Eula stipulates that the software can only be used on one computer at the time. I don't think there is an issue if you install it on your laptop as well. As long as nobody uses the other installation while you are on the laptop.
Then again, I'm not a lawyer and only state my understanding of it. It is certainly not impossible to do and not expressly forbidden I think.

I see where your getting, but can I just unistall the software from my desktop to my notebook? Then again, when I install it to my notebook, will it ask me to insert a code or something? IIRC codes can only be used once?
Gosh, Im getting all stress out because of money reason and can't afford having to spend another $100 to put it on my notebook.
You see, FX products have a download site of your products once you buy it, so you can just simply unistall and redownload your product from their site to your notebook. Just wondering if Ulead can do this...
Thanks by the way for the reply

Ulead programs can be bought in boxed versions, complete with Installation CD's manuals etc. or downloaded. Once you download the installer, you can (actually you should) make a backup of that installer program and the extra downloads. Burn this to CD and you can install that anywhere, as long as you have the serial number that is given to you with the download (often that is embedded into the program installer). That's all. There are no internet activation procedures or anything like that.
Most of us are running dedicated machines for video editing with no internet connection, modems, virus scanners, firewalls etc. Just completely stand alone machines. How would we activate these over the internet? Ulead tried it in the past but the backlash they were getting from this forum alone would have been enough to change their minds. Maybe it did
