Tried recording a sound file (Microphone) on Audio Editor 8 and when I pressed the stop record button the program crashes - eveytime. Used to work before. Only change since last use was the install of Video Studio 10 plus. Tried uninstall and reistall of all of MSP8 to include cleaning the registry and before reinstall and I get the same results.
Tried the Ulead Tech Support Form and that seems to be non-functional - feeling Ulead is dieing, and I depend on so many of their products.
P4 2.8, 1GB RAM, WinXP Pro SP2, MSP8 SP1.

Update - Audio Editor 8 crashes
Opend an existng sound file and recorded over it (don't know why I thought of it) and Audio Editor worked fine. But if I create any type of new file if crashes. Same problem but with a twist.
I agree that Ulead is weak on audio stuff, which is why I use Audacity when I need an editor.

Audio Editor 8 crash
That's a shame - the direction Ulead has taken with their products and customers. I was just looking for a simple voice record using a program that never failed me till now and finding support from a company who I've been with since 1997 is depressing.
Has anyone else experienced a crash of audio editor after recording a new file (mine crashes when I stop the recording). If so, did you find a fix for it?

A solution (maybe)
I have found that it has something to do with the SP1 (8.10.0039.0) upgrade that makes Audio Editor crash.
So I copied the original aeditor.exe file to a safe place before applying the patch (SP1). I then go back a put the original aeditor.exe back (overwriting the SP1 version), and it seems to work just fine.
I hope this helps...
