Transitions in the overlay track?

I seem to remember reading a post/tutorial by Vidoman (I think) explaining a method to achieve transitions between clips on the overlay track.
I cannot find it.
Was I dreaming?

Haven¡¦t tried this myself.

But I think you create your project with all transitions. Save the project

Start a new project and drag the saved project to the overlay track.
The project opens looking like a single clip.

A project within a project. MediaStudio Pro calls them "nesting tracks". Very handy.

You should be able to access the tutorial again within an hour, hopefully. There was a problem with my server and they are getting it corrected.

I believe Ron's tutorial says to apply the video clips in multiple overlay tracks and overlap them in time sequence on the timeline and click on the fade-in and fade-out buttons in the control panel. Works like a charm. I have used it in many sections of two DVD's I have recently created.

Overlapping clips in overlay tracks is one way to do it. But you only have the fade in/out transition that way. If you want to use other transitions you would have to create a project with the clips/transitions and save it. Then insert that vsp into an overlay track. True indeed. I forgot to add that option to my post. I guess I was too focused on providing clarity to Ron's Tutorial than providing my own idea for using a project file in the overlay track. Thanks for the reminder, my friend.

Yes, you're idea of using the VSPs is what the big boy (MSP) uses as nested timelines, or virtual clips. Now that is creative out of the box thinking..
