Problem Editing Video Clips

Post by Ron P. »

I received an email regarding problems with cutting video clips. Again I would like to point out the notice regarding PM Messages and Emails to Moderators. Questions should be posted in the forums, so that others may benefit from them.

I have followed the steps indicated in the manual: mark the star-end points of the unwanted section, click on the scissor icon if it is highlighted or use the delete key.
Either the entire project or the beginning or end parts disappear. But the unwanted section is still there, in the timeline. The program does strange things oftentimes. Any help will be greatly appreciated. :?
Femayta, Welcome to the forums,

Clicking on the scissors icon cuts the video clip into segments. Then highlighting one of the cut segments and pressing delete, will delete that highlighted segment. However if you have both clips highlighted when you press delete, then both will be deleted.

I recommend reading through Steve's great tutorial From Camcorder to DVD.
