Well, that depends on what program you are using to make your web page...

We shall await details.

Well, it's quite simple if you know what you are doing. You create it, animate it, save it as an animated gif or flash file and place it into your web site html.

Not much to do with PI though, apart from the creating and animating it bit.

If I dont' want a background?................create on 'transparent'??

So the text I'd create on GiF - say font size 12 - would go into my webpage as 12 too??

Told you I was non-tech

Close enough if you don't resize it.

Whether or not you create on transparent depends on your preferences. I personally never create on transparent background. I would use a background of the same color as your web page or close to it. The gif I would then save/create with a transparent background by making the background color transparent.

Still struggling with this one. I've opened up a transparent 'base' and then added banner text. This then comes up with a white background and I can't figure out how to get rid of it!

I've saved as GIF but I didn't see anywhere to have the option of transparent background

Am I missing something VERY simple????

Yup... you have to go to the Optimize tab in the Workspace and make sure the "Transparency" is turned on.

How do I make a transparent gif?

If you're making a new animation, click "New" and make sure that "Fully transparent" is selected under Canvas appearance. When you go to save your animation, use the Optimization tab in the Workspace. If you just click 'File and Save As...' or use the Save button to 'Save As,' it will use whatever the current setting is on the Optimization tab, and if that does not have Transparency turned on, it won't be transparent. If you want to save your gif file with a transparent background, then this button must be activated. Image
