reusing mini dv tapes

Post by sleeper »

I know this has been asked before, but I couldn't find any answers for this. How many times can you use a mini dv tape of consumer quality before it starts to degrade your movie? Thanks for any help

It can depend on many things so I don't think you'll find an answer like 10 times or 20 times then the next one will be rubbish.
Some people will re-use tapes and others like me prefer to keep everything we record as archive back-ups. I buy 100's so at a little of £1 per tape it's not worth re-using in case a tape fails.
