The difference between .IXA and .IXB is the ability to split the disc image file into several parts on FAT32 if the disc image file size is over 4 GB so it will not hit the FAT32 file size limit.
How to create an IXA/IXB file?
When you are trying to create an ISO disc image file in Ulead burning products, remove the .ISO extension and type the .IXA / .IXB extension in the file name box then clicks on Burn to continue. Ulead burning engine will recognize the file extension and then burn in its own private format.
You can burn the .IXA file with BurnIXA.exe.
Sorry I mixed up UVS and DVDMF regarding the BurnIXA tool because I was referring to the DiscDup tool. The DiscDup tool can burn both .IXA / .IXB files.
Regarding to the burning part of VS, yes it's a shared component between VS and DMF.
Hi MD,
No, Burn. Now 2.0 is with DVDMF 4 Disc Creator. In DVDMF 3 Disc Creator or DVDMF 3.5 Deluxe Suite the Burn. Now version is 1.5; and in DVDMF 5 Plus the Burn. Now version is 4.0. (Where is 3.0? Well, it's another story)
Hope this helps.

This sounded good, H.T., but unfortunately I couldn't get it to workhtchien wrote:When you are trying to create an ISO disc image file in Ulead burning products, remove the .ISO extension and type the .IXA / .IXB extension in the file name box then clicks on Burn to continue. While I now know how to produce one from the other posts, I had already tried what HT had suggested. I have to agree with Gordonwd that you cannot just type in another extension. One part won't let you type in anything, and the other does, but then it adds is own iso extension...
But at least I now have a sure fire way of doing it despite that...

Maybe the IXA thing is a moot point. I went ahead and created a regular ISO image and burnt that. The ISO file was over 6Gb, but that was not a file-size problem since my disks are NTFS (does anyone use FAT32 on these huge hard drives these days?).
Anyway, the ISO image burnt successfully on a DL DVD and everything appears to be working OK.

I think it's my fault to mix up VS and DVDMF with the ISO / IXA / IXB thing again, sorry on that. I recently lost my VS disk and only got DVDMF 5 Plus installed....

Maybe you can contact Ulead support via their web site to get a replacement. _IF_ you have a legal and registered copy that is...htchien wrote:I recently lost my VS disk and only got DVDMF 5 Plus installed.... :(

This my understanding of it.
I have been proven wrong on several occasions in my life. It's not going to improve.
