DVD image captured from TV does not fill screen

To prevent any unnecessary loss of quality - the aim is to render once if possible. Instead of creating a 16.9 video from the 4.3 source. Prepare it as you have mentioned on the overlay track and suitably resized.

At the point where you would now render the video - save the VideoStudio project with a suitable filename. Now treat that vsp file as if it was a rendered video.

Neat little often overlooked 'trick' so that the video only gets rendered once instead of twice. Any loss of Quality is thus kept to a minimum.
