Displaying the Date and Time in Video?

Post by n2cheval »

I was wondering if there is a way to display the date and time of the video from a camcorder? It displays in the Camcorders LCD screen but not in the downloaded files.

DV Camcorder

It uses DV tape, so I believe it is a DV camcorder. Panasonic NV-GS150.

I was hoping it could be done in DVD MovieFactory 5. I guess if you are referring to other programs, then it's not possible. Correct?

Correct if you want to display it on the video, as the time/date is part of data stored on the tape, but is not part of the video stream as it was in the analogue days.

It's not hard to do though.

Date & Time

Thanks for your help.

I've followed your link and had a look at multiple links from there. I'm not sure which link I should be concentrating on to be able to do this, as they all seem to have different purposes.

Scroll down the page until you ge to this part,
Do you need to insert the date and time that the dv stream captures, but does not display in the video when captured as a dv-avi file? Then have a look at these links for programmes which will help you do it
Then choose the one that suits you best.
