I've got v.10+ and just went from 512 to 1536 DDR2 RAM. On a test rendering, all other things being equal, run after a fresh reboot I got about a 14% improvement on rendering time. Does this seem about right? Other posts I've read seem to indicate that there's not much boost after the 512 to 1024 jump.

The easiest way to determine if you need more RAM is to press the following 3 keys together at once
[CTRL] [ALT] [DEL] this brings up the Windows Task manager.
Now click the [Performance] tab and you will see a graph showing how much RAM is being used.
If (during a heavy job such as rendering a video) you are using more RAM than you have installed (So that it is using the 'pagefile' - in other words one of your hard drives) then it is time to install more RAM.
