Did I read a post on WMP and a codec app?

I thought I read a post on the forum about how to check and tell WMP to use a certain codec for playing dvds/files, using a nice simple app. The OP used another one in the end.

I can't find it anywhere, I know I should have bookmarked it.

Then again, it could have been on one of the many other forums I use.

Anyone any ideas?
