problems uninstalling photoimpact 11

Post by austomj »

hi,

i want to uninstall my photoimpact 11 trial and install the v12 trial. but i cant uninstall the v11 software ! it gives this error:
Error loading C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\INSTAL~1\PROFES~1\RunTime\0701\Intel32\Ctor.dll

The specified module could not be found.
so then I went and looked for 'ctor.dll' and downloaded and placed it into the aformentioned folder. but now the uninstaller gives me this error:
InstallShield Wizard

Set has experienced an error.

Please do the following:
- Close any running programs
- Empty your temporary folder
- Check your Internet connection (Internet-based Setups)

Then try to run the Setup again.

Error code: -6003
and unfortunately googl'ing the error code hasnt come up with a whole lot. I even went to the InstallShield website (http://consumer.installshield.com/common.asp) and typed in the error code there and it said
Your search - -6003 - did not match any documents.
No pages were found containing "-6003".
anyone know a resolution to this issue ?

edit: question - where is the uninstaller file located for this software ? i dont see anything obvious in the photoimpact folder ....

Ulead uses the Windows uninstaller, found in the Control Panel || Add/Remove Programs. Yes I know that it just points to an uninstaller, however were Ulead may bury this is unknown to me.

Try doing a complete un-install/re-install. Ulead programs leave a lot of files behind. So just doing a simple add/remove programs from the control panel and then re-installing may not correct some issues. Instructions can be found here : Re-installation of Ulead Products

Instructions for doing a clean uninstall are found in the above article.
