Newbie question about using Boris Fx with MSP

Post by p3t3r1 »

Hi, I just recently brought BorisFx. It has many effects that looks really cool and I need the fire effect to stimulate a witch-burning. I found the Boris FX filters under video filters --> Special. It is at the buttom.

I found fire under the nature filter and applied to a video clip where we pre-filmed a guy acting like he is getting burned by the fire. So we have this guy acting on the clip and I am simply going to apply the fire particle effect to the video clip so it seems that there is really a fire burning him. I thought I had it and it could be pretthy easy but it wasn't the case.

As you can see here, this is my set up.

I played the fire effect on the Boris FX and got this on my composite screen.

It shows that I have the effect applied but I don't see it in mediastudio pro. what I am do wrong? I hit the apply button in Boris FX.

Thanks for any help. Also, is there a tutorial on BorisFX around that shows how to make a realstic fire that would be fitting for burning witches? Thanks. :D

Perhaps not many of us use 3rd-party transitions??? I don't for one!

Maybe the easiest way of showing the burning of a witch is to find one and burn her?? :-D Seriously, if I had to do something like this, I think I'd try to make a small pyre with a green screen background and superimpose this over the unfortunate lady meeting her end, rather than try to simulate fire with effects. I hope I never have to do it! :-)
