Cannot change TV Standard from NTSC to PAL

Post by WestbrookNH »

VS10+ Trial Version.

I cannot change the TV Standard in Project Properties from NTSC to PAL.

Is this a limitation of the Free Trial download?

Never mind.

I had selected MPEG, so, of cours, PAL/NTSC are meaningless for creating an MPEG file.

Not sure I understand that statement - PAL/NTSC are important in an mpeg as that is effectively what is burned to a disc and plays in your DVD player.

OK, now I'm confused.

If I select Properties->Edit->Compression Tab and select MPEG-2, the "TV Standard" Drop List in the Properties->Edit->Ulead VideoStudio Tab, is grayed-out and CANNOT be changed.

In fact, no matter WHAT I select in the Compression Tab, the "TV Standard" Drop List is grayed-out and CANNOT be changed.

However, in the Compression Tab, I can select various NTSC an PAL formats, so I thought that they were mutually exclusive from MPEG. I realize now that these other formats are Disk formats.

So, is this a limitation of the Trial Version?

I don't know about the trial version - never used one at all

but under the 'Compression' tab against 'Media Type' in the full version I have the options 'PAL DVD' and ' NTSC DVD' if I change between those two all the properties for TV standard also change in all locations - does that not happen in the trial version ??

Full version here -- when I go File/Project Properties/Edit -- the TV Standard is ghosted (seems to be ghosted no matter what). But it will change when you make a change in the Compression tab
