Rotate Video
I am running Movie Factory 4 and wish to rotate two short clips taken with my video camera in MPEG4. Can this be done?
For that, you'll need a video editor, like Video Studio.
Movie Factory is supposed to be a DVD authoring program with some editing capabilities.
Video Studio is supposed to be a video editing program with some DVD authoring capabilities.
Confusing, eh?
On a side note, MPEG-4 makes me "nervous". The more compressed the file, the more potential trouble...
There are lots of posts here by people having trouble with DivX and Xvid (MPEG-4 variants). I've sometimes even had trouble with MPEG-2.
Even if you don't have any weird problems, any "real editing" (anything other than cutting & splicing) requires the video to be decoded and re-coded. Since these are "lossy" compression schemes, you may notice a loss of quality with each decode/re-code cycle. Assuming you are making a DVD, the video will have to be re-coded to MPEG-2 in any case. And, DivX and Xvid users often report render times of 8-12 hours!
