DVD compliant audio still gets converted

Post by Mace68 »

Hello all :)

I need to find out what I'm doing wrong here. I have DVD compliant mpeg2 files with do not convert dvd compliant files selected. As expected video is left untouched but MF5+ always wants to re-encode the audio no matter what audio format I use in the video files. I havent done any editing or anything to the files in MF5+. I've tried the following formats to no avail:

192 kbps 2 channel & 5.1
224 kbps "
384 kbps "

All at 48000 Hz 16 Bit. Even the "Media Clip Properties" in MF5+ show the correct audio format. What am I missing here?

Thanks.

Man do I feel stoopid lol...

Somehow (yeah right, my happy little mouse finger) normalize audio got selected. Turned it off and no problems now. Sorry to waster your time.

Regards.

I doubt it was your happy mouse finger... I also had that option enabled without wanting it. It hasn't been enabled anymore since unchecking it.

But "Archive images of slide shows" is always enabled in new projects. This is not remembered.

Thanks for the reply... now I don't feel like I'm losing my mind so much :)

I still may lose it yet lol...

Now during the ISO build process, when multiplexing after the menu has been built, it stops with "Unspecified Error". The program doesn't crash, it just stops as if i had clicked cancel.

Is this error as mysterious as it looks? :?

Thanks

I get the same behavior when trying to create DVD folders as well.

I'm sure one of your project files is somehow corrupted. Corrupt mpeg files may play in various players but when MF encounters the corruption, it doesn't know how to deal with it and hangs. That's one of the things that need fixing.

The only way to find out which one is to redo the project and add one by one or use one of the mpeg editing utilities. I never edit mpeg and, hence, cannot be of much help here.
