I want to import a MediaStudio Pro 7.0 video/audio file ( with extensive audio tracks (3) and a transition/title track (Fx) and continue to edit the file in VideoStudio 8.
Is this possible, since the *.MSP file is not recognized (format)?
Will I need to convert into an .avi file in order to make the format compatible. I'm wondering if some of the transitional effects are not available in VS8, what is the result?
A second question relates to "stretching" the audio track to catch up with a synchronized point on the video track. This may only be a couple of seconds out, but is this achievable by dragging the trim handles on the audio track? I believe this just shortens the audio track; not stretching or compressing the same length of music track?

Yes you must create an .avi file in Media Studio first and then import that into VideoStudio it makes no difference at all whether you have used transitions which are not part of UVS once they are in your .avi file they are in your video, for instance you could play your .avi file in Windows Media Player and that possess no transitions at all.
In UVS you cannot stretch a sound track to make it any longer - but you can truncate it. If you want to increase the length of your soundtrack you need to export it into a sound programme (Soundforge ??) and then you can stretch it to make it longer - but be aware that depending on how much you wish to extend it the characteristics of your sound will change and if you go to far it may sound like an old gramaphone player thast needs winding up.
