failiure to burn

Post by meibion »

Hi
have created a project in video studio 10 plus but when I try to burn it to DVD I receive a message "failed to burn disc" I previously burned it Ok. Since I added some extra media I get the failed message.

Welcome to the Forums Meibion ...:)

First we are going to need some more information. Please view This Thread, it provides a guideline to the specific information needed to help you.

Please complete your System Information in your profile. Clicking on this button -->Image will take you to a short tutorial, explaining how to find and complete that information. This way it will always be available, and will save you from retyping it in the future.

What media have you added?

Provide your workflow, the steps you are taking from start-->finish, ie; Captured video (How and what was used?), edited video(format of video, project properties, video properties?), Next step could be why, Created video file (Share>Create Video) or Share>Create Disc, using project file which is a VSP), in Burn Module your project properties (click the gear looking Icon in the lower left), type of media used (SL DVD, DL DVD, brand of DVD compatible with your burner?) etc., ... some of the information that could help us help you..;)

Re Failure to burn

Post by meibion »

Hi
Thank you for reply. I have XP home/ 3.4GHz /512 of RAM. My media I'm trying to burn to is DVD+R / DVD+RW. In project properties all it says ismicrosoft avi PAL 25fps. I open my saved project then create disc. Progress bar starts creating menu e.t.c then up pops "failed" to the left of message is [519:0:0] I originally burned project wihout any problem, but since re-opening the project and adding some stills this problem has started. Hope you can make sense of my ramblings!

Hi meibion

Some users experience problems when going to the burner module from the project.

As Ron said, after editing your project it may be best to Create a Video File.
Then use the file in the burner module.

Read the recommended procedure from the top post.
Read my Quick Guides to DV-Avi / Create Video File and Share.

My workflow is as follows

Capture
Edit
Share--Create Video File (Pal-Dvd)
Start a new project
Change the project settings to match the video file
Share--Create Disc
Add Video File.

Hope this Helps

Since we don't know the exact properties of your project, I'd be only guessing. But I wonder if you have created a project using Dolby audio but for some reason, DVD Santa, cannot handle Dolby.

Why did resort to this other program? If you followed our recommended procedure as you say you did, why didn't you use VS to at least see if the burning worked this time? Or if you produced an image ISO file, you could have use the ISO burning facility included with VS -- namely VCD DVD Disc Image Recorder. You will find it in the XP menu entry for VS10, but a couple of lines lower.

Hi Ken
Thanks for reply I will try that. This problem only started when I added some video to my project from my friends camera. Would that be a reason I'm having a problem?
