Glitch/Bug in PI 12

Post by trueblue »

I'm an avid EP user and have found there's a glitch/bug in version 12 of PhotoImpact.

After loading .smp and making the appropriate files I try to use a preset of but a small box pops up with this......

"Download Files
To use some of the templates and images in EasyPalette and Component Designer, you may need to download and install the content packs.

Or ifyou already have the files on your computer, please click Brows button to link to the files."

I've never experienced this before. Once My Easy Palette has been set up with the relevant folders/files and .smp installed in the EP all I had to do was click on the preset to use. PI 12 doesn't seem to have the capability to remember what's been installed in the EP.

Following instructions as per the manual regarding installation of .smp ..... PI 12 EP doesn't remember personal EP .smp folders/files.

I do know others are experiencing the same issue and hope that Ulead fix this asap.

I have this same problem. When I import the .smp file for presets, each time I use that preset, a popup window wants me to browse and find the file used in creating the preset.

That makes sense but you get the popup browse window every single time. For example, I apply a preset to a path item. I have to browser to find the material used. I use that same preset for the next object I draw and once again, the browse window pops up. I don't have to actually browse the second time, I can just click the browse button and it automatically finds the material needed.

This is a very annoying little bug and I'm hoping it's going to be fixed in the very near future. I always revert back to an earlier version that doesn't have this problem because it's double work to use PI12.

My other gripe is, it's VERY slow loading when compared to PI10.

Has this ever been fixed? I tried the update, but it didn't fix it. I have a lot of added files that I have either created or downloaded, and every single one has to be loaded by browsing in order to use it. This occurs with shapes as paths. It makes trying out various materials rather trying. Any one with some clues on how to get around this?
