Well, that's a lot of information to work on!! (NOT!)
For one thing, how exactly are you connecting the camera/vcr to your computer? What is the make and model of your capture device? What format are you trying to capture in (all its properties if you can, please). And what are your computer specifications and operating system. Also, which version of Video Studio are you using? That might at least give us something to work on.

Ideas, yes I have a few. You wanna know what they are?

First we are going to need some more information. Please view This Thread, it provides a guideline to the specific information needed to help you.
1. You need a PC,
Please complete your System Information in your profile. Clicking on this button -->
will take you to a short tutorial, explaining how to find and complete that information. This way it will always be available, and will save you from retyping it in the future.
Since we can not see your PC/Video editing set up, and I loaned my Crystal ball to Heinz, I need you to describe to me as much as you can so that I can form a mental picture of what may be happening..

OK, updated all info except motherboard. I am using VS 10+ with a Pinnacle 510-USB to capture VHS tape from panansonic palmcorder. It has RCA connection. Video out into Pinnacle and one video out (white) into Pinncale. Then USB connection to computer. I also tried an audio line out directly from the camcorder to the soundcard. No go. If i use pinnacle-supplied software, I get sound but jumpy video (many frames dropped) = bothe VS 10 and moviemaker give me better video but not audio. Hope this is enough information. Thanks.

That's better already
Hopefully someone with knowledge about your capture card will come to your rescue.
I have given up on all kinds of analog capture cards. There is so much junk for sale, it aint funny. I use the AV through function of my Panasonic GS 400 digital camcorder to get my analog footage. No problem at all.
