Unable to compress the audio

I'm trying to trim a .mov file in VS 10+ and I get the following error:

Unable to compress the audio.(osErr=-2004)
[17200118]

The format of the file is:

Video Compression: 3ivx D4 4.5.1
Sound Compression: MPEG-4 Audio

Is it just a matter of installing some patch or am I going to need to convert the file before bringing into Video Studio? The video plays just fine in VS 10+.
