Have a problem with VS versions 7SE and 9. Can capture video either by Hauppage card within computer or by DVD recorder without a problem - video and audio clear and perfect. However when editing captured video (removing adverts etc) audio is excellent but video is blocky and distorted. Had not had this problem until about 3 months ago and all attempts to rectify situation have failed.
Incidentally, have also used VideoReDo and get no problems at all so I am now wondering what has happened with VS. It appears to be an issue related to the MPEG encoder but can find no updates.
Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have the similar problem and have likewise done everything I can think of (including re-installing all SW and patches) to get this right. Mine is occuring with slide shows and photos. I am getting a shift in the rendered video that causes distortion about a 3rd of the way down the image. The shift looks like horizontal parallel lines, but on close review appears to be caused by a horizontal swath of missing video that causes an actual forshortening of the rendered image...thus a face is shorter than it should have been and the edges do not match up.
This problem began occuring about 60 days ago... Could it be the result of a MS patch or upgrade? Anyone, please help if you have found and rsolved this issue.
