First, welcome to the forum.

The error message indicates that the capturing format you set in Ulead DVD MovieFactory is not compatible with the capture driver, so it will use a default format from your capture driver to capture.

Maybe you can check with the capture device manufacturer for udpated driver?

Also please tell us more information by following the steps in http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?t=8960 so we can know your problem well.

Hope this helps.

You may be using an MPEG-only capture device (such as my Hauppauge card) or a hard-drive camcorder that records to MPEG.

In any case, it's generally best to avoid on-the-fly real-time conversion. If your hardware is sending MPEG data, it's best to capture to MPEG. If you are using a MiniDV camera, capture to AVI/DV format. If you need to convert it, do it after you have the digital video file on your hard drive.

If your capture device is MPEG only, make sure to choose a DVD compatible format. If it has to convert from some other MPEG variation (i.e. DivX) you will loose quality and it may take a long time to re-render.

Also - If you are using an analog capture card/device, it may have come with it's own capture software. If so, you may be better-off using that software for capture. Analog capture is the trickiest part of digital video! (Of course you can use Movie Factory to capture if it works well with your hardware.)

Once you have a digital video file on your hard drive you can use Movie Factory to make a DVD.
