Multiple overlay tracks

Post by Jonathon »

Can someone tell me how to add Multiple overlay tracks?
On page 10 of the Ulead VideoStudio 10 it tells you about it but it doesn't tell you how to do it.
So can anyone help? thanks!

Which version of VS10 do you have (regular or plus version)? The regular only has two video tracks, where the VS10 Plus version has up to 7. In the TIMELINE view, you can hit the little icon above the timeline that looks like a checkmark with two film reels (above the timeline, it is the 2nd from the right , and before the disc icon with the 5.1).

It is the Regular version but in the instructions it says i can select to have more overlay up to 6 of them.
Can anyone tell me how to do it?

Anyone have Ulead VideoSyudio 10 the regular version? Look at page 87 and it says about the overlay tracks. Anyone know how to get the extra tracks?

Jonathon..heed the advice of GeogeW...the regular UVS10 has only the main track and one overlay. UVS10 plus has the main track and six overlays.

So..what to do ? If you have the patience..you can use your UVS10 and make the video clip special effects with your one overlay track. Then save the video file and then again use the overlay track onto your saved video file. You can repeat the process of saving the video file and using the overlay track to add your effect, as many times as you wish. That is what I did when using UVS9. But, now with UVS10plus it saves me time.

The instructions manual was obviously written for both VS10 and VS10+. This is rather silly of Ulead when expectations are raised in owners of VS10 when, like this situation, they see references to features which are only available in the Plus version. Apart from multiple overlay tracks, you will also find the VS10 -- as opposed to 10+ -- will not handle 5.1 Dolby surround sound and high definition (HD) video, as well as some other features.

A quick guide to the differences between the two versions can be found at http://www.ulead.com/vs/version.htm

The Tutorial is valid for all versions of VideoStudio unless I have stated otherwise in the appropriate text.
