Menu Queries

Post by richardn »

I have DVD Workshop and I have a query about menus.

I basically want to import a film into workshop and add chapters to it but I do not want each of those chapters to appear on the menu screen. Is this possible ???

All your help would be appreciated.

Yes. The normal procedure is to add chapters first, and then create a menu, and finally link the menu buttons to the chapters.

Go to EDIT.
Advance the video to the point where you want you first chapter & click ADD CHAPTER, etc.

I've copied several VHS movies to DVD, adding 10 or 20 chapters with no menu at all.

Other times, I've linked some of the chapters to the menu, and left others unlinked... I just put them in to make better use of the >>| and |<< buttons.

Thanks DVD Doug,

I do want a menu but as I said don't want each chapter point to appear on it.

Could you please tell me how to link the chapters to the menu without it appearing on the menu ???

Menu Template

Don't use the MENU Wizard, use the Menu Template button instead. Or, build your own menus from scratch.

This is for DVD WS 2.x -- if you are using DVD WS 1.x, then it's a little different...

Thanks for the reply.

I have now managed to place my intro as a first play item. I place the movie in the library edited it and added my chapters. It is from this point I get lost.

I go to create menu and I cannot work out how to link them menu correctly. I have dragged the movie onto the desktop created my thumbnail and everything looks great.

When I go to finish I cannot get the movie to play I seem to only get the first play intro and nothing else.

What am I doing wrong???
