transition effects failure

Post by serf »

Hi this is my first post here.
I have been using MSP 7.0 with all the Service Pack patches installed.

Anyway, I installed MSP 7.0 on my new HD and it wont open. I used the download provided by Ulead and all.

The program starts but then fails while loading the "Transition Effect" or at 85% of "Loading Effect" segment of opening.

In my attempts to fix this problem I first installed the latest DirextX 9, then looked for Windows updates. After updating all the DirectX and Windows I then rebooted, unistalled MSP 7.0 then reinstalled it. No luck :( rebooted again....no luck :((

What would cause the "Initializaton of Effects" to fail while opening? I have the error but it does not offer to "Send". This error window just offers a "Close" I can post it here if need be. I can't really understand what the error details specify

Looks pretty bleak from here can anyone help?

This is a fairly common complaint on this board. It is usually due to non-standard codecs having been installed, often from bundles of obsolete ones sold on the 'Net. I forget the name of the worst culprit, but a search of this board should find it; you will have to remove it.

If I recall correctly it is the Klite Codec Pack.
