Way to Rotate (replace) graphics eveery 5 or 10 seconds?

Post by coosbaytv »

Hi all!

I am a long time video producer and Ulead products user.

(See our blog and podcast on video editing; www.mediastoogespro.com)

Recently, I have jumped into the web creation world using PI12 to promote the various things that I do.
I will eventually get to a point that I will include graphics and web creation in my "bag of tricks" once I feel confident to offer those services to clients as well...

Anyway, the easiest way to decribe what I need to do is point you to my site that I need to update; www.coosbaytvhomes.com

On the right hand side, I have 4 ads that I created. I have an opportunity to sell more than the four ads if I can figure out how to have them rotate through every 5 or 10 seconds. The term in video editing is called "crossfade".

Anyway, I could sell these all day long if I had the room, so this is better than making more room.

Any help is appreciated.

I think GIF Animator is your best bet. Perhaps Ron (vidoman) can describe how he does that nice signature below his posts!

Jay, I notice that each image (ad) has a different link. I would imagine you would want a rotating advert to be pointing to a different link for each ad, yes?

If that is the case, the use of some JavaScript on the web page to rotate the ads (and matching link) would better serve you... Snippets of code like this are available for free on several sites.

I've never used any myself, but Googling "javascript ad rotator" will net you a few finds...

http://javascript.internet.com/text-eff ... tator.html

As for being on your show, what on earth would I be talking about? Video stuff is not my strong suit. Playing with GIF Animator is my thing!

Robert:

one of the things the "Stooges" and I want to incorporate is a series of "How To" relationships within the Ulead products we use and love...

So to answer your question, you could talk about what you love, GIF animations for the web.

Also, I would guess you could field a few web questions as we video producers have a tendency to not be webmasters.

On a personal note, I want to incorporate this ulead web board into www.mediastoogespro.com. It is a well rounded one stop shop for getting your media creations to market via the web or through this large group of talented folks. It has amazed me over the last few years of the number of people that have a talent that could compliment another user in another medium but the two don't have a clue that the other exists...
This is what I want to fix this year with our blog and podcast.

Happy New Year!

Hmmm, interesting.

I'll contemplate that and get back to you via email...
