I have Photo Explorer 8 and now I want to upgrade to 8.5. Is this a free upgrade for us? Will I gain anything by upgrading to 8.5?

No it's not free. Ulead does not do Free Upgrades. I don't know what you may or may not be gaining. I use PhotoExplorer 8.6, which is only available with PhotoImpact.

The difference between PEX 8.5 and 8.6 is the support for RAW photo images.
