Closed Captions are lost using DMF5 +

Closed captions are lost aftrer authoring tv recorded dvr-ms files to dvd.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
Cosed captions are also lost when I capture TV to dvd.
Please help!

Your talking about capturing the Line 21 code. The following webpage explains it all but It's not simple.

Where are you watching the created DVD? On your TV, or on your computer? If the CC was captured during your recording, then it will be lost if you do anything that will cause your video source to be re-encoded. If you are able to use your original mpeg recordings "asis" from a DVD (i.e. when you recorded TV to DVD), then the CC might still be there after you author in MF5. Play it back on a TV to see if they are there.

If you are using a software dvd player on your computer, then you will have to use a utility such as IFOedit to update the CC line to be "Present" (as MF5 sets it to not present in the authored dvd -- and this prevents you from turning them on in your software dvd player).
