I'm using VideoStudio 6, under W2K. How can you import a video clip (MPEG or AVI) into VS6 from your hard drive, as opposed to a Capture function via firewire from a video camera?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi Vidwit, and welcome to the forums,
I never used VS6, however I don't think it is that different then VS5 or VS8. On the File menu is there a command that is similar to Insert Media, or Insert video file? If so use that, which should open a browser window, where you can navigate to where the video files are located on your system.

Thanks for your response, Vidoman...
I've been unable to locate a File menu in the program--does it only appear
once a project has been established?
This current project doesn't even involve an initial Capture from a video
camera--the video files are already stored on the hard drive.
It seems as if VS6 forces you right into the Capture (from a video camera)
function as you're first setting up your project....

It shouldn't be much different to the current versions.
Please view: User Interface layout
Obviously you are looking at the layout of the current version but it should still resemble Version 6 somewhat.

Checkout Page# 42 of the VS6 User Guide.
