Have DVD keep replaying itself...

Post by nokose »

I am currently working with VS 10 on a project and need to have hte DVD keep playing itself over and over again without setting it up on the player to repeat the disc (easier to have someone put the disc in and push play, rather than sit on the phone and try to firgure out a DVD player without seeing it). Also if this can be setup without having a menu displayed it would be helpful. Thank you in advance for any support you can give me.

You do not have to have a menu at all - after you have clicked on "Share >> Create Disc" in the new window which opens untick the box next to "Create Menu" , Also in that same window click on the little cog wheel at the bottom and put a tick in the box against "Auto repeat when disc playback ends" - you should then have what you require.

Unfortunately, the looping does not work when you do not have a menu (as we discovered a few days ago in the MovieFactory forum). This is a bug in the code, and needs to be fixed (imho).

On the bright side, if you create a menu, pressing play once should loop your video (if you do as Brian suggested and click the "Auto repeat..." option).

George

Ok so is there a way to have the menu only last for a second or two then autorun the program instead of having to select it?

Unfortunately, VideoStudio does not offer a menu-timeout function like other SD DVD Authoring packages (such as DVD Workshop).

You could Author your dvd to folders on your hard drive, then post-edit using tools such as IFOedit and PGCedit (but be careful editing the DVD as the wrong setting could stop the DVD from properly playing).

Does anyone know if this was fixed in the most recent SP?

I installed the most recent SP1 (from a few days ago), but it did not resolve this issue.

Getting VS10 to create an Auto Looping title

Post by adjack »

I, too, am trying to produce video from VS10 to loop endlessly on a standard consumer grade DVD player without any menu activation or other user interaction once the DVD player is powered up. I've read many suggestions here and tried several without using any other software.

Has anyone found any progress in this matter with VS10 or its upgrade?

Thank you in advance for your efforts.

The bad news is I have not seen a fix for VideoStudio 10 :(

The good news is this works now in VideoStudio 11 :)

There are tools that will let you modify the DVD Navigation to auto-repeat (like IFOedit or PGCedit).

Thank you, George.

I had just bought the VS10 upgrade from VS9 and have been struggling with this. Throw more money at it, right?

George -

Before I upgrade to 11, have you been able to produce the looping with ease or to we have to jump through hoops to get it to work?
