So I just got a Sanyo VPC-C40 camcorder. I want to transfer the videos on my SD card to my computer so I can free up my card. I'm using MovieFactory 4.0. I had a Samsung camcorder for about a week and this one is the only option that is popping up in the source bar.
I'm totally new with editing and viewing video, I know pictures quiet well though.

this camcorder is connected via USB, and you probably just need to explore and copy the recorded images from the USB drive to your PC. Similar to when you connect a USB stick.
This should all be described in the Sanyo manual, not Ulead MF.
So if there is no capturing to be done, then MF can be used once you've copied the files to your disk.
(Your previous camcorder was probably connected via firewire and required capturing, compared to the current one. But who knows... you didn't mention anything about it, so I can only guess)
