I ahve been using Video Studio 7 ESD and had downloaded all the transition effects, audio clips and the templates used in the share step. I recently (late last year) upgraded to Video Studio 8 ESD and now these templates are no longer available even though eveything should be downloaded in one file.
Am I doing something wrong and if so how do I load all of the templates. Presently I only have one template per catagory whereas in Version 7 there were at least 5 or 6 per category.
Any advice welcome

I am not 100% sure on this one but if you have the download version of VS 8, doesn’t it consist of two download files?
One for the main program and one for additional templates.
If you have the download version have you installed it correctly.
Others on the forum will confirm this.
OK
I think VS 8 should have about 30 menu templates in about 7 folders
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 8.0\Template (for VS8)
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 7\Template (for VS7)
In addition you can customise your own (VS8 only) which will be saved to:-
C:\Documents and Settings\Trevor Andrew\My Documents\Ulead VideoStudio\8.0\My Favorites.
You can if you wish use VS7 templates in VS8, you have to copy the files from the 7 template folders to 8 templates folders.
Be aware that the file names may be identical, causing you to over-write the existing files.
Make a copy or rename the files before importing them to the VS8 template folder.
If you use the Favorites folder you may not have to rename the files.
Hope this Helps

Thanks for the reply. There was definitely only one file to be downloaded but I did read something about Ulead rebuilding the ESD version because not everything was included. I am waiting to hear from them.
I will try moving the files across as you indicate tonight.
Thanks again

Templates in Video Studio 8
Thanks, I found the templates in the extra content file. However the only way of using them is to physically copy the files into the
C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead VideoStudio 8.0\Template
directory as there appears to be no way in the share step to point to another directory.
Is this correct ??

Yes, you just copy them over, being aware that the pack in the content file will have a template in each category which has the same name as the ones already in your program. As Trevor suggested above (in relation to copying the existing VS 7 templates), you would need to change the name of the existing ones or else you might lose them in the transfer from the content file.
