I am using Plextor ConvertX M402U to capture from VCR. VS recognizes my converter, but allows only MP4 format. I want a format that is DVD compliant, but I don't think MP4 is. Is this simply a limitation in the trial version?
I also have VS8 SE. I am using it to do the capture rather than VS10+ because I am able to select MPEG-2 format. (I usually select Good Quality, which has 720x480, DVD, VBR, 4500kps.)
I am able to make a DVD which plays fine, but I takes over 3 hours to make a 2 hour DVD. Why so long? VS8 does the job in about an hour. I assume that if I could capture on the same format as I use for the DVD, it would go much faster, but because of the above problem, I can't get the required format.
VS8 was working fine, but since I installed VS10+, video and audio are out of sync on a finished DVD. Removing VS10+ and repairing VS8 helped some, but lack of sync was still noticeable after about 1 hour into the DVD. Do you have any suggestions for getting VS8 back to the way it was?
I like the looks of VS10+, and would certainly switch to it but for the problems I am having.
VS10+ trial version - capture format MP4 only
