Blocky picture from digital video

Can any one help ?
I have a cannon mv20 digital video camera, conected to the computer via firewire. os is winxp with sp2, and using video studio 10 ( older version used before and got same result in the end). all was fine when i was using an older version of video studio. Then i put sp2 on and i could'nt capture pics. They were blocky in the playback window. so i bought video studio 10 and the samething happens. what am i doing wrong?. Only thing i can think of is take off sp2.

Prob all sorted, it was with the drivers in sp2 used for the firewire. info was found on the following site. http://www.myvideoproblems.com/ProblemP ... derSP2.htm
