Resolution 1024

Post by localuser »

Hello,

When i try to run the program it states i need a 1024 resolution or higher to run the program.

I have a resolution of 1280x1024 and it wont work, when i put the resolution back to 1024x768 it works.

What is the problem here? I have a 22 Inch monitor wide screen and I dont want to drop to 1024 to run the program since it will make all the icons and images screwd up.

Anyhelp would be appriciated. Thank you

What video card are you using?

Please complete your System Information in your profile. Clicking on this button -->Image will take you to a short tutorial, explaining how to find and complete that information. This way it will always be available, and will save you from retyping it in the future.

I also use the same monitor resolution, and have never encountered that error. Click on the "System" button below the posts to see the System Specs of the person posting...

Assuming you only have 1 screen (and only 1 monitor) then check the color depth too.

Something is wrong with your statement. 1280x1024 is not wide screen. That is a standard LCD resolution (like mine).

Ok just double checked.

Here are my specs:

1280x720 21inch lcd monitor 32bit color

Acer AL2216W on All In Wonder x800 series.

So when I run the program it says run at 1024 resolution or higher.
I click OK but it wont let me go into the program.

If I change the resolution to 1024 then I can get in no problem.

Any suggestions?

When it says 1024 resolution, it means 1024x768. So if you use 1280x720, the 720 is less than 768....

Hope this helps.

Widescreen monitor settings

Yes, localuser, your Acer Value Line AL2216W is indeed a widescreen monitor with a native/maximum resolution of 1680 x 1050 (a 16:10 ratio). So if you want to drop the horizontal resolution down to 1280, your vertical resolution should be 800, not the 720 you quote. By the same token, the setting of 1280 x 1024 that you quoted in your first post is not appropriate for your widescreen monitor with its 16:10 ratio.

So try the 1280 x 800 setting. Preferably, why don't you use the native 1680 x 1050 setting? That'd give you a vertical resolution close to the 1024 on a standard 1280 x 1024 monitor like mine (and Henry's) - on which MF looks very nice.

OK. But if MF wants ketchup with its fries, it should not just order fries. Or maybe I should've used fish-n-chips as an example.
