I am now being logged on automatically but why am I not getting email
notification of posts that have been replied to?
Always notify me of replies:

I really don't know Ken.. When you have posted, is the box showing checked at the bottom of your posts? It should automatically be checked if you chose that option in your profile.

The only other thing I can think of is your email is blocking/filtering out the emails from the forum. They are automated, so with some email services you need to add the email address of the forum to your contacts, or email addresses for the email service/client to not consider it spam. I know I was getting the email notices from the forum in my spam folder until I done that. Now in addition, if your email filter is set to delete spam, then you may not see it at all.

Yep, works for me... When I posted my response above, I checked the box, and I just checked my email when I noticed that this post had a new posting by the icon color on the main page. I had an email, that notified me of a new post to this thread...

A reply from 3 wise men, what more could a forum member ask for!
Anyway, the reason I posted my rather badly put together question was that I have not changed changed any settings myself and when things alter I thought it may be something to do with things at the other end. This was the case when Steve explained to me in a previous post why I was not being logged on automatically, that is, a restricted service. As I suddenly started to be logged on automatically but then noticed that I was not getting reply notiifications I thought they may be an answer to that and it may have been connected in some way.
So," Notify me when a reply is posted" and "Always
notify me of replies" are and always have been selected thanks.I have added "phpbbadmin@ulead.com.tw to my contacts and adress books in BT Yahoo and Outlook Express (on advise of Vidoman, thanks)
Dont know how to deal with the Spam setting situation but what ever that is it is the same as it always has been.
Ken, I know what you are saying about getting EMs but dont forget that less learned members are not as prolific or have the knowledge that you have and from my point of view I am very grateful to get such helpful advice. Also, if you are waiting for a reply to a post
it is much quicker to get to the reply via the email link than searching through the Forum(unless of course that is something else I am lacking knowledge on) If you do not get advised of a reply /reponse how do you go about looking for it,the only way I know if there is no notification is to scoll through the posts,I dont seem to have a lot of luck using searches.

Anyway thank you all for the reply and all the time you have put into this Forum, it has been a life saver for me
Have a happy new year regards Ken
