severe freezing problem, need help

Recently, everytime i try to to do anything with audio, like drag and drop a song from a file folder into the the audio bar, or even click the audio tab, the whole program freezes and not even ending the process can close it once it freezes...and i really need this up and running...it started happening with Ulead Video Studio 9..so i got Ulead 10 from a buddy of mine and the same thing happened

Most audio problems are as a result of using MP3 and are cured by converting them to WAV.
