"File format mismatch" for Flash files - UV10

Post by San_kev »

This is happening just lately, CAN"T run any SWF flash file...!

When I choose any file *.swf, can't open it, I get "Unable to open file *.swf" 'file format mismatch'
All the files that already are into my "Library manager - Flash animation" I can see the thumbnail but can't run them or put them in my project, I get the msg. "The content of this file is UNREADABLE"

Do I have to Re-install FLASH player???

Thank you

Sankev

Has your flash player been changed or upgraded recently?

Yes, I think I did it, Flash player 9. Should I desinstall or reinstall it flash 9. But most of the webpages require for this plugin.

Thank you

If you are using VS9 or (MSP8) Ulead has a patch for the Flash issue created with Flash 9, here:

http://www.ulead.com/tech/vs/vs_ftp90.htm

Warning: The site is running like molasses in the arctic.

I would first try reinstalling Flash Player 9. I'm also running VS10+ and using Flash 9. I also have a stand-alone Flashplayer that is used for my flash-authoring program.

To correct a corrupt flashplayer, you need to correctly uninstall it. Go here for instructions: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgeb ... d=tn_14157

If after reinstalling Flashplayer does not correct it, then try to doing a repair on VS10. Just like uninstalling, except choose Repair. If that does not correct it then try doing a complete un-install/re-install. Ulead programs leave a lot of files behind. So just doing a simple add/remove programs from the control panel and then re-installing may not correct some issues. Instructions can be found here : Re-installation of Ulead Products
