VS10 and wedding slideshow
I'm charged with creating the wedding slideshow for my sis's nuptial. It looks like VS10 is a good solution for editing a moving images DVD, but can VS10 be used for an exclusively still-image traditional slideshow with music, transitions, text effects, etc. ?? Thank you

Yes VS10 can do that. There is also a version 10+, it is much better, and I recommend it over the plain version of VS10. There are other apps that also can do this. DVDMF (DVD MovieFactory), and of course MSP-8. For sometime I would use either VS or DVDMF for slideshows. Then I discovered what MSP8 can do, and it is awesome. However there is a steeper learning curve, and it costs much more.
If this is a one-off job, and something that you might not use again, then I would opt for the less expensive.

Your most welcome..
I sure wouldn't complain about that price. Ulead has been running several specials, like VS10+ with PI-12 for $149. But for the full boxed version it normal sells for $99 without shipping. So I think you done good.
We have some great articles, that will help you with your video editing. They are located in the Tutorials Section of the Web Board. Here's a couple to start with:
You might want to review Steve's tutorial on Creating a Video Editing Profile.
You might want to read through From Camcorder to DVD tutorial.
Recommended Procedures have been developed to help guide you through the mine-field of video editing, as it pertains to Ulead's VideoStudio Programs. They can be viewed here:
Recommened Procedures Updated Version
Then there are several tutorials on specific tasks. If you have some free time browse through them to get a feel on what all VS can do. Sometimes it is not obvious on how to achieve a certain look or effect, however thinking outside the box goes along way...
