How to tie timeline tracks together?

Post by palutte »

Edited: I restarted VS10 and now there is a track lock option visible before each track. The problem is solved.

My present project has 2 time lines - still images slide show with transition effect and 2nd is Title track.
1) How can I lock both tracks so that when dragging (changing) duration of slides, the title line track changes also accordingly.
Now after shortening the duration of a single slide I have to rearrange all titles of other slides also manually. I'm sure that these can be locked but I can't figure out how. :-)

I assume same question would be with audio track whwn such exist.

Hi

Afaik.
You cannot use the ripple effect, locking the timelines, then edit the locked clips.
If each image has a title attached, then using the ripple will stop the image duration change.

You could render the project to one video file then use the Playback Speed option

Otherwise you will have to re arrange the titles manually

AFAIK, ripple editing only applies to locking the clips of the overlay track, title track and audio tracks in relation to the main video track. If your still images are on the main video track, and you have titles on the title track and audio clips on the audio tracks, and those tracks have ripple editing enabled, any changes made to the still images on the main video track will stay in sync with the title clips and audio clips. Make sure that the title track and audio tracks have ripple editing enabled.
