Steve, after clearing the system and application in event viewer and restarting my computer, I only had 1 error. I then tried running the utility and I still only have the 1 error and I made sure it is the same one that I had before running the utility.

Is your spelling of Batansdr correct - nothing turns up on a google search.
Also in the event log you should see
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

Please click that link (in the event log) some hidden code is passed to that link which will provide you with more information and possible cures.

O.K. we seem to have hit a brick wall with that step.
Try moving onto the next step, download and run the following:

Jblank,

Your link is the correct one. It is to the Update/fix for Smartsound.

vidoman, I appreciate the reply. This is where all my trouble began. I downloaded the 3.0.3.0 update and then tried to install. That is where I get errors that it tells about. I then downloaded and tried to run the "Windows Installer Clean Up Utility". I cannot get that to run either. I am at the point of not knowing what to do now.

The driver file netevent.dll is a WinXP system module that is used to extract Network Components Error Messages. So the mysterious Batansdr service is throwing the error. We need to determine what Batansdr Service is. I've googled that, and surprisingly received 0 hits.

Under Services (right-click My Comuter>Manage) that service should be listed. Scroll to it, highlight it and there should be a description provided on the left. What does it say about it?

vidoman, under computer management, application, I only have 2 red circles with the white crosses. This is what I see if I double click on one of them:
Product SmartSound Plugin-error 1316
A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file C:\windows\installer\smartsound quicktracks plugin.msi

Under computer management, system I have what you see about 7 post above your last post on the Batansdr.

I hope this is what you may be asking. Thank you.

What I have highlighted in red, is what I would like to know. What does it go to? It has to be related to a program, or utility. What that error tells me it is something that was installed on your system, and has been removed, or Windows forgot the path to it. It can not find that service, so it is causing the error..

I wish I knew what else to say. There is nothing else to click on that I see to give anymore information than what you have there in your post. I am sorry, I do not know what to do now.

vidoman, the only thing that I can suspect is that it may came from the SmartSound update or from the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility. I say that because neither one is doing what it should do.
