The Album transitions have been problematic since they were first introduced in the version you have (VS8). When they work, they are excellent. But some people had no end of problems with them, or particular ones in the set.

I don't think any solution was ever found, and there have been problems with them even in VS10. Indeed, the number of albun transitions was even reduced in VS10 to reflect the fact that some presented more problems than others. Even when they work, they take a very long time to render.

It might. But as I say, the Albums just seem to cause trouble...

For what it is worth, here are the suggestions we use to give to people trying to use the Album transitions in VS8 just in case you are doing something different:

1. Click EFFECT step
2. Select TRANSITIONS then ALBUM
3. Choose an Album (Flip 1 for example)
4. Drag to timeline, place between two clips
5. Click on Customize
6. In the Layout section, top right, choose a thumbnail
7. In the Album tab, select any album cover template
8. Set the Size, Position and Orientation by changing the values using the sliders. (You will see instant changes)
9. Press the Background tab. Select a Background template then adjust the settings (if wanted)
10. Set Size, Position and Orientation by using the sliders.
11. Press the Page A tab and adjust (if wanted)
12. Do same with Page B tab
13. Press O.K.
14. Preview the full clips-the program will render and play.

And in addition, here are the instructions for doing a clean reinstall of VS8:

1) Clean up C:\Windows\temp directory. Uninstall anything to do with VS 7/8. Clean up all files in C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Local Settings\Temp folder. Uninstall VideoStudio 8 from control panel Add/Remove programs.

2) Delete folder {4F1DA6BF-3614-48A1-9970-9E90F646789E} in C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information (Please set "Show hidden files and folders." in folder option in OS)

3) Delete the folder "Ulead VideoStudio 8.0" folder in C:\program files\ulead system

4) Run Regedit from Start/Run in Windows task bar

5) Delete folder {4F1DA6BF-3614-48A1-9970-9E90F646789E} in
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\

6) Then reinstall it and any patches.
