I have been using PhotoImpact since version 8 (currently using XL) and have recently bought a new Sony 19" flat screen monitor to aid in the digital image creation process. Since using this I have noticed that images in both PhotoImpact & Photo Explorer look alot darker than if I view them via Windows Explorer, Adobe Elements and an older image editor from Microsoft called Image Composer. Previously this anomoly was not as noticeable as my old monitor was on it's last legs....
If I use the above apps to prepare photos for printing, the hard prints come back looking almost identical in terms of exposure & colour but if I use PhotoImpact, all my adjustments are over compensated for. At present I am making the adjustments in PhotoImpact and then loading them into Elements or Image Composer to ensure they look right. Once they do, I send the images for printing but this seems a daft way of having to do things.
So, how can I make the images in PhotoImpact/Explorer look the same as in the other apps so that once processed, I know the images are right? For info, all other editing apps & viewers seem to be the same, it's just the Ulead apps that are different and show darker versions.
Thanks
Andrew
